I have been using Spotify Premium for a few months now as I wanted to be able to listen to music whilst in the gym on my Samsung Gear s2 watch. Spotify is my music service of choice and I was ecstatic when I learned that it was coming to the Gear S3 last year. However, the app lacked one major feature: standalone playback. It now appears I suspect this is similar to my Gear S2 on which I can control spotify using the Gear native music app once spotify is running on my phone.
